Back in Rome

Hello Antonya and Daniel!
Hello everybody else there!

Back in Rome, after my little holiday in Edinburgh...

I bet this is a bit of a surprise for some of you!

An even bigger surprise to Antonya was .. my new hair style!

I really enjoyed my time in Edinburgh!
Antonya and Daniel are fantastic guests!
They provided me with plenty opportunities to enjoy myself, e.g.:
1) I met Antonya's consultant.... wow!
2) Daniel introduced me to his girl friends... plenty of them!
3) Daniel taught me some football tricks! None of my boy friends had managed that before!
4) Daniel appreciated my homemade chicken nuggets and had FOUR of them!!!
5) Antonya and I chatted as usual and had some good laughs!
6) I almost missed my flight as I was so reluctant to leave!

I learnt that some of you are taking part in the Moonlight Walk. There is a link to it on this blog. Is there anymore that we can do from Italy? Sorry I can't be there on the 20th of June! But please take pictures for the blog!

I was lucky with the weather! It was sunny everyday, but the last one! On one day it felt so warm that Daniel and his girl friends decided it was a good idea to have a "water fight"!

It was a pleasure to look out in Antonya's garden, now much better thanks to those who have worked on it! We watched the birds coming to feed on the food hanging from the apple tree and had some very nice rhubarb dessert!

I am sorry that my work committments will not allow me to take another break in Edinburgh till end of July, but I will have some interesting news from Bratislava, Slovakia; Berlin; Adis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Bangkok, Thailand!

I also look forward to be updated on the blog as much as possible!
Take care, all of you!

Antonya in Hospital

Hello Everyone!

Sorry to be the one to put some 'not so good' news onto the Blog.

Antonya is back in hospital (Western Genral- Ward 2) - she woke up on Tuesday morning with a very high temperature so her friend and neighbour Jean took her into hospital. Antonya is not taking anymore chances.

She has caught an infection and has been given lots of anti-biotics. She was hoping to get out on the Wednesday, however has been kept in as the doctors want to find out where the infection is.

Looks like she will be in for a little longer until the infection is cleared up. Lots more anti-biotics.

Due to all of this she did not get her chemo today.

Hope everyone is well especially Marina and Valeria - fingers crossed they have managed to avoid the awful earthquake in Italy.

Take care.

IT WORKS!!!!!

Hi! Just heard from Antonya (whom we wish to see posting soon!) that things are improving, according to her consultant!
Such great news I think deserve a space in this blog and, when Antonya joins us, the information she would like to share could be useful to others.

On a different subject, Valeria and I had a wonderful time in Edinburgh with Antonya, Daniel and all the visitors! The weather had improved when we were there and there was no snow!
I was dreaming to catch up with you all and introduce Valeria (our blog QUEEN!) to those who have not yet met her, but in reality this was not possible and most likely you will have to visit her here (you are wellcome!) and meet husband (Franco), dog (Tessa) and cats (Piperita, Pinocchia, Pisola, Vispo, Forrest, and MANY others!). Hope none of you is allergic! Antonya, Daniel and Sheena met them all in June, but the wee kittens they saw are now grown up cats! I understand that Valeria is trying to organise a "cat picture show" accessible from THIS blog! So you can enjoy pics of her cute kittens!
I hope to visit again soon, but with the good news we are really hoping that Antonya and Daniel will be able to come and see us soon and bring any friend as well!

My news are more or less the same, i.e. work, work, work :-)
But it involves a lot of travelling, which is fun to some extent....
My next journeys (March - May) are to Zagreb, Turin (North of Italy), Paris, Buxton (end of April, hope to visit then!), Cuneo (North of Italy) and Bratislava!
I will try and take pics to add to the blog!

Take care you all and hope to see your comments/posts and to meet you in the chat box!
Love!

First Week Home

Antonya has been home now for just over a week and things are going really well. Her home is 'buzzing' with all the visitors - just how she likes it.

Marina and Valeria (Marina's sister) have just been over from Italy to stay - they were here for 4 days and it was great for Antonya and Daniel. They are both fantastic cooks so were kept busy in the kitchen making delicious food for all.
It was great to see you both again and to catch up.

Antonya is kept busy thinking about all the things she wants to buy for the house, for Daniel and for herself.

On Thursday she has another session of chemo and next week she will have a week off.
It is great to see her 'looking good' and happy that she is home with her 'little' boy.

Love to everyone
Sheena

PS Marina and Valeria I hope you are impressed that I managed to do this!!
